Born in Rock Hill, SC Matt Tucker was raised on country music. As Tucker got older he ventured out to other genres, but always came right back to country. Tucker has always loved to sing, but in 2008 decided to get serious with it by learning how to play the guitar. Six short months later, he began playing in honkytonks around Rock Hill with his father, Joe Tucker.
In 2011 He started entering the Texaco country showdowns determined to get more exposure and experience. "Its a long hard ride," he says "and I'm here to stay!"
Influenced by some of country musics most known legends (George Strait, Alan Jackson, Johnny Cash, Conway Twitty) just to name a few, Tuckers southern upbringing definitely shines through his songs. His music reflects the new country phase but with some ol' traditional ways.
