Whether it’s the wedding of your dreams, the dinner party of the season, or the corporate event of the week, the Hodges Taylor Ensemble provides a musical backdrop to your event that is artistic, meaningful, and professional.
The Ensemble was created in 1988 as a cooperative effort between the Hodges Taylor Gallery - an uptown gallery since
1981 - and four musicians who often played for the openings at the gallery. Through the generosity and support of gallery
owners Christie Taylor and Dot Hodges, the Hodges Taylor Ensemble began life as a professional string quartet, and has
been part of the Charlotte music scene ever since.
Comprising musicians based in Charlotte, the HTE players represents musical study from the finest conservatories in the US and Europe. Individually its members have played principal positions in orchestras from England and Portugal, Indiana University and Oberlin Conservatory, and right here in North Carolina. Their experience in the free-lance world of music is vast and long-lived; the women of the HTE are on the first-call list of almost every contracting agent in the area, thanks to their skill as string players and their professionalism.
