Being born to greatness doesn’t guarantee that greatness will be passed on, but in this case it’s undeniable. Born the daughter of legendary soul singer, songwriter, actor and music producer Isaac Hayes, Heather Hayes has greatness flowing systemically through her veins.
While under the tutelage of her father and music greats like the “Godfather Of Soul”, James Brown, Heather honed her skills as an entertainer with the unique ability to leave audiences breathless and wanting more. Her live performances and vocals have been compared to Aretha Franklin, Regina Bell, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan and Janet Jackson. Heather's musical experiences don't end there, she's worked as a singer for artists such as Beyonce Knowles and Arrested Development, danced for Michael Jackson, Sean P. Diddy Combs and Brian McKnight and danced and choreographed stage shows for James Brown.
In the spring of 2004 Heather formed The Heather Hayes Band with four of Atlanta’s most seasoned musicians. The guys have many impressive credits of their own and have recorded and toured with artists like Madonna, Cameo, Bobby Brown, George Clinton, India Arie and Whitney Houston extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.

Alternate Take is a group of four talented musicians that have joined forces to make one of the most impressive bands on the east coast. Each member has played professionally since their teen years and educational backgrounds include music degrees and Masters degrees. Not only are they well versed in contemporary party and dance music, but also jazz standards of yesteryear, and classical music of centuries past.
This is not just your typical wedding or cover band; this group of songwriter/composers can write a theme for your event that will appeal to almost any crowd. If there is a song you want performed, Alternate Take can do it. The Drifters played with BB King, Maurice Williams, Junior Walker and opened for national artists like Joe Cocker, B. B. King, Eddie Right and many more. Calvin also worked with former lead singer of the Temptations, Dennis Edwards.

Since the Catalinas formed in Charlotte in late 1957, over 60 accomplished guitarists, keyboardists, trumpet players, drummers, bass players & singers have been a part of the band.
Gary Barker one of the founding members, attributes the band’s long success to the ongoing popularity of beach music & the tunes the band has composed, Particularly the Hit Song, "Summertime’s Calling Me" in the 1970s.

My career has been a long exciting journey with all roads leading to the musical oasis called Beach Music. In the spring of 1966 in Raleigh, NC, as lead singer of the Showmen, I performed before my first Beach Music audience. Thinking Beach Music was music by artists like The Beach Boys and Jan & Dean, we nervously performed a variety of rhythm and blues classics. Surprisingly, each song was met with the audience's approval. As we ended the show with our regional hit "39-21-46" and our nationally charted hit song, "It Will Stand," the audience responded by applauding us back for an encore. Because we didn't know any other songs to perform, we sang two more verses of "It Will Stand" and spontaneously, began to adlib the chorus of Bruce Channel's song "Hey Baby." As we sang "Hey Baby," we waved our hands in the air and to our surprise, everyone in the audience responded by doing the same. When we concluded the show with a bow, the audience showed their appreciation by rewarding us with another thunderous round of applause. That spring night, I understood, appreciated and became a part of the Beach Music phenomenon.
In 1968, 1 moved to Detroit, Michigan to further my career with Invictus Records.
In 1978, 1 returned to the Carolina's with The Chairmen of the Board. For the first time in eight years, I enjoyed performing music without the depression of the music business. I found an independent music industry that was still free of monopoly, politics and categorization. I felt the energy of an industry propelled by its loyal supporters.
I'd like to sincerely thank all Beach Music lovers and supporters for affording me the opportunity to create and perform, without compromise, the music that we treasure. I am humbly appreciative and honored to be a part of the Carolina Beach Music phenomenon.

Our full production consists of the 10 piece band along with professional sound and lighting. We can downsize the group to a 7 or 8 piece when needed. We can come in full costume or for the more formal affair and/or wedding, we have tuxedos and gowns. We can provide everything you need for a full night of music including a jazz dinner set, DJ to fill in the breaks and then the Throwback show which gives you a full night of musical and showmanship like you've never seen!

The Swingin' Richards came about January 2001. Their debut show was Feb 2, 2001, in the plaza of the Bank Of America's "Founder's Hall" opening for the late, great “Godfather of Soul”, “Soul Brother #1”, the one and only Mr. James Brown.
Now you may say that’s pretty good for a debut, yet there’s good reason the guys were able to float their boat on something like this. Dues and persistence. The guys have been in some of the Southeast's most beloved, reveled party bands: The MegaPhonics, Daddy Blue, Mo Money... do these ring a bell? If not, either you just moved to the area, or are unaware of what’s been shaking musically in the Southeast.
"A friend of ours who works in promotions, was looking for a strong local act that would work nicely opening for James Brown. Our past bands had expired, so he suggested the five of us get together and have a go. Only to do this one show. It really came together so well...the rest is history. The third week of September, 1978, was marked the beginning of an era, the formation of THE FANTASTIC SHAKERS, known as the "South's Finest Show Band." Since the inception of the band, the have performed over 6,000 engagements including over 400 wedding receptions, 700 conventions, and clubs too numerous to mention. The band's summer home and their hit single "Myrtle Beach Days" catapulted The Shakers to the top of the Carolinas musical groups.
This combination of experience and longevity has allowed THE FANTASTIC SHAKERS to possess a level of versatility few other groups can match. With five lead vocalists and up to three horns, they can perform almost any style of music from up-tempo dance and rock to the smooth easy listening for the more subdued occasions. The music is GREAT but what sets THE FANTASTIC SHAKERS apart is the personality of the group. From start to finish every performance becomes a PARTY! The fun starts at the first note and doesn’t stop until the last. A performance by THE FANTASTIC SHAKERS is not just a party, it is an EVENT!
Special attention is given to appearance, with over $80,000 spent on custom-made wardrobing. Tuxedos are always available for the formal occasion. This Shakers' carry a state of the art JBL P.A. that is powered by over 16,000 watts of QSC amplifiers. The lighting system features 16,000 watts of power controlled by NEL multiplex controllers. An ultraquartz spotlight is used to highlight the floorshow. This flexibility allows them to accommodate any size event from a small reception to a large outdoor event.

The band officially came together and was formed in 2005. With the exception of Nathan, all were former members of other bands through previous years.
"Not often do you get people that truly want to play with each other," said one of the members. "Most musicians enjoy doing their own thing and expect the rest to follow. That's not what makes for a great band." For the first time in decades, Rick noticed a special mix of talent.
The age difference has allowed the group to come up with a mix unlike so many other bands. From Elvis to Incubus, Otis to Green Day, The Temptations to Lenny Kravitz, Rod Stewart to Jack Johnson. You name it. This group has it all.
Through their combined experience of playing in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, these guys play from funk to swing and everything in between. Beach music and classic rock included.
Why such a wide diversity? Well, age difference did play some part. However, Mike and Payton are professional dancers. In competition and appearing in movies, dance is what motivated these guys. Rick was an old southern rocker that married a disco lady. There was no choice for them to play anything but dance music.
If you want a band to get people to dance, this is the band that can do it. Guests of all ages appreciate the mix of music this band performs.

The Bandits have had the distinct pleasure of opening for Jimmy Buffett three times as well as Kenny Chesney at Williams-Brice Stadium in 2008 in Columbia , SC. They’ve headlined numerous "Parrot-Head" events, festivals, private events and clubs.

“THE PARTY BAND OF THE SOUTH”
Tradition is defined as “The handing down of a belief, legend or custom from generation to generation”. The Swingin’ Medallions, a 46-year Southern tradition, are a living definition of the word. How does a band endure the generations? The group’s signature high-energy style delights audiences of all ages. Their act, as well as their music, is indeed timeless. The group was founded in 1962 by John McElrath which has been carried on by his two sons and the modern day 8 piece version of the Medallions! Featuring an ever-popular horn section, the group effectively blends the sounds and music of yesterday and today. The band has performed throughout the nation in thousands of venues. Their diverse repertoire has made them overwhelming favorites with college audiences as well as the more mature rock and rollers.
The band was made famous by its 1966 single, “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love”. It remains the signature song of the band. The song, in fact, continues to demonstrate its timeless quality on radio, television and in motion pictures. “Double Shot” was followed with another hit, “She Drives Me Out of My Mind”, in 1967. In 1969, they released yet another hit, “Hey, Hey Baby”, the song featured at their 2004 Gator Bowl Half-Time Show performance.
Bruce Springsteen labeled “Double Shot” “The greatest fraternity rock song of all time” and opened with it at his August 2008 Charleston, S.C. concert.
Lewis Grizzard (Southern humorist and writer) labeled the Medallions as
“THE PARTY BAND OF THE SOUTH”, a moniker that has become forever synonymous with the Medallion name. In 1993, Grizzard wrote in a nationally syndicated column, “Even today, when I hear “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love”, it makes me want to stand outside in the hot sun with a milkshake cup full of beer in one hand, and a slightly drenched coed in the other”.

To hear it, you might think you just stepped into Motown. To breathe it, you smell a tropical breeze. To feel it, you let the rhythm grasp your body and whirl it into motion. To see it, is like an extravaganza of light and energy. But to experience it, you must say it …. “I want THE TAMS”!!
The Tams were formed in Atlanta, GA in 1962. It’s members were Joseph Pope and Charles Pope (founders), Horace Key, Floyd Ashton, and Robert Lee Smith. In the beginning, they sang and danced as a way of having fun and to escape their circumstances, hoping to make at least a little money. The group began performing in local night spots for $1.25 each. These small wages only allowed for them to purchase matching Tam O’shanter hats to wear while on stage. From this trademark, the legendary Tams name was born. The Tams hard work, patience and perseverance eventually paid off when they were signed to Arlan records and had their first Billboard hit in 1962, the single “Untie Me”, which was number 12 on the R&B chart. In 1963, ABC Records signed them and their first album produced a Top Ten hit, “What Kind of Fool”. They began playing throughout the country and a string of hits followed. These included “Be Young, Be Foolish, Be Happy”, “I’ve Been Hurt” and “Hey Girl”. Since then, they have released over 15 albums and been honored with one Platinum and two Gold records. They have toured and recorded with Jimmy Buffet and performed with such greats as Gladys Knight, Jackie Wilson and many more. They have received the title “Beach Band of the Decade” and have been inducted into the Georgia Hall of Fame, the Atlanta Hall of Fame and the Beach Music Hall of Fame. The Tams are still recording today and have recently released their latest singles “My Main Squeeze” and “This Love Will Last” from their newest CD The Tams Comin’ At Cha’.
The current members include Charles Pope, his son Li’l Redd, Joe Jones, Robert Arnold and Reginald Preston. Despite the unfortunate passing of “The Legendary Joe Pope”, The Tams have continued to be as popular as ever. Forty two years after the group’s formation, Charles and Li’l Redd continue to lead The Tams toward success. Fans clamor to see Charles Pope – Living Legend, and Li’l Redd – Fastest Feet in the South! And with a new generation of “Little Tams” coming along, Charles puts it best when he says “The Tams will NEVER die” !!

Zegg formed by chance—a spontaneous collection of wayward souls who are music fans as much as they are musicians. Soon after the four members of ZEGG connected in 2004, they—as well as the strong fan base that quickly followed—discovered that they had something special.
